Our Approach
The primary goal of Caring for Kids Pediatric Therapy is to meet each child according to their needs.
In the home, we will take a whole family approach to occupational therapy. Relationships and communication between the child and their family members are very important. By partnering with families, your therapist can develop techniques and treatment plans unique for each child! We help cultivate skills within your child such as communication, boundaries, structure, and other attributes that are specific to their needs. By providing therapy in the home, the child and family can learn together!

It is important to remember that a child’s growth does not only occur in the home, but also in many other environments. The therapist has the ability to travel to your child's daycare, school, grocery store, and other places to help your child transition to new locations.
Your child is amazing! However, they may need to learn new techniques to complete tasks a little bit differently. We are willing to go the extra mile, no matter the situation, to support each child and their families. Since parents know their children best, your concerns will be heard, deeply valued, and addressed. In addition to providing therapy for your child, our job is to equip you with the tools needed to be who you are, their parent. These tools can include support, encouragement, and practical strategies to interact with your child. The family is a team, and Caring for Kids would love to work together with you to make your child the star player!
Our Story
Caring for Kids Pediatric Therapy is a growing, mobile, private practice near Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.
The owner of Caring for Kids, Alex, grew up with a brother who needed intensive occupational therapy. At a young age, Alex was actively involved in his sessions and began to cultivate her love with the profession. After becoming an occupational therapist assistant herself, she began working in the outpatient setting, in which she started to see the not-so-glamorous side of pediatric therapy. Waitlists were long, as parents remained helplessly on standby for at least a year for their child to receive services. Due to the setback of waitlists, Alex realized the developmental delays in children were becoming more difficult to treat. In addition, parents had a lot of concerns that were often not addressed by other occupational therapists. These concerns included early discharges regardless of child progress, unsuccessful attempts to increase outpatient sessions within the home or other facility, and the lack of support received from their child's therapist.
Since these realizations, the owner of Caring for Kids wanted to be able to provide a more individual, wholistic approach to occupational therapy. When she decided to change jobs, her patients' families expressed the desire to follow Alex to her practice. Alex designed Caring for Kids so that children can receive specialized support within any desired setting. Within the home, children will be treated in a familiar environment and their families are provided practical, every-day strategies to best help their child. Within schools, daycares, and beyond, the therapist can work with the child to navigate unfamiliar environments and provide teachers with the necessary tools to help their student succeed in the school.
